Bfeore there was In Living Color, There was SOUL (1968), a Laugh-In spin-off that never went beyond the pilot stage. Produced by George Schlatter, it featured Redd Foxx, Martha Reeves, Nipsey Russell, the Chambers Brothers, Gregory Hines, Slappy White, Lou Rawls, and Joe Tex.
