Dr. Jamal Bryant addresses the next phase of action following the 40-day Lent fast from Target.
The fast may have ended on Easter, but the movement is far from over.
After Target rolled back its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives—aligning with policies stemming from former President Trump’s executive order—faith and civil rights leaders are taking a stand. Dr. Bryant, alongside Rev. Al Sharpton and others, met with Target’s CEO, Brian Cornell, in what was described as a “constructive and candid” conversation. But words aren’t enough.
