This year’s theme, ‘Onye kwe, Chi’e ekwe’ – Courage, Perseverance, and Self-Reliance – reflects the strength of the people and their commitment to overcoming challenges The festival celebrates the annual emergence of the Obi from seclusion, marking the renewal of blessings for the kingdom and reenacting the historic joy of discovering yam as a safe and vital food source.
