The Missouri House of Representatives approved a proposed constitutional amendment to ban abortion, which would repeal the reproductive rights amendment known as Amendment 3. This new measure allows exceptions for medical emergencies, fatal fetal anomalies, and for survivors of rape and incest within the first 12 weeks of gestation.
The vote passed with a count of 94-50 after a four-hour debate. Democrat Raychel Proudie, representing Ferguson, expressed her views on the proposals, stating that they are “ridiculous.”
