“Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) said Democrats are in no mood to help Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) as he takes heat from hardline members of his conference, Elon Musk, and President-Elect Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, Johnson introduced a continuing resolution that would fund the government through March 14, thus avoiding a shutdown set to begin on Dec. 21. Some of the more conservative members of the House grumbled about the legislation, but matters started to go downhill for Johnson when Musk tweeted against the resolution more than 70 times, including several posts that were simply inaccurate. Ultimately, Trump followed suit and threatened Republicans who backed the bill with primaries. Shortly afterward, Johnson scrapped it.”
