Tyra Powers is a self-trained visual artist who was born in Cincinnati, Ohio but grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. Her passion for painting began at an early age and has remained with her throughout her life. She draws inspiration from her surroundings and creates realism, portraiture, oil paintings, and abstract art. She attended the Baltimore School for the Arts to extend and flourish her skills and continued her study at Towson University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Design.
