Borelson is a Toronto-based multi-disciplinary artist and creative director.
Following a multilingual upbringing in central Africa (Gabon, Congo), he moved to France for a few years after some upsetting family circumstances, before migrating to Canada on his own.
His music is primarily hip-hop and afro-fusion-influenced, with elements of jazz, classical music, and gospel thrown in for good measure. Borelson’s debut album, ‘As Far As Eye Can See,’ was published in May 2020 alongside a docuseries on the success stories of immigrants and first-generation Canadians, both projects inspired by the adage ‘I didn’t come this far to only come this far,’ and the power of visualisation.
Borelson’s works are inspired by Afrofuturism and the Ubuntu ideology, with the goal of providing more motivation, hope, and a sense of collective freedom via mutual respect and balance.
